The Constitution Lets Roger Stone Speak . . . at His Own Risk
If I were the prosecutor on Roger Stone’s case, I’d be delighted that he continues to speak out publicly. Capitol Hill has finally started to take notice of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s brass-knuckles investigative tactics: Rather than call defense counsel to arrange Stone’s surrender on charges of misleading Congress that have been expected for months, Mueller had dozens of well-armed agents swarm Stone’s home as if it were Osama bin Laden’s compound. In his latest rant, Stone deduces that “Russian collusion” is Mueller’s pretext not just to nail to him, but to impeach both President Trump and Vice President Pence, then install Speaker Nancy Pelosi and, finally, Hillary Clinton as president.
Duke professor sparks online outrage after telling Chinese students to only speak English
U.S. college official who told Chinese students to speak English quits
Megan Neely left her position as director of graduate studies for the biostatistics master’s program “effective immediately,” the dean of the school told students in a letter on Sunday, according to the university’s newspaper, The Chronicle. The dean, Mary Klotman, said Duke’s Office of Institutional Equity would conduct a thorough review of the program. The email by Neely, who remains an assistant professor of biostatistics and bioinformatics at Duke, said she was approached by two faculty members who wanted details of first-year students “they observed speaking Chinese (in their words, VERY LOUDLY)” on campus.
Donald Trump to speak with families of four Americans killed in Syria
U.S. border agents will not speak to lawmakers about girl's death
Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus on Tuesday plan to visit the New Mexico patrol station where Jakelin Caal and her father were taken on Dec. 7 to learn more about why she died the next day. Caal’s death fueled criticism of President Donald Trump’s immigration policies from Democrats and migrant advocates. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said it showed the dangers of her journey and the family’s decision to cross the border illegally.
What do Americans think about Brexit? New Yorkers speak out as Theresa May delays vote on deal
As Prime Minister Theresa May battles to save her Brexit plans from failure, one question remains for Americans: what the hell is happening on the other side of the pond? New exclusive research published by The Independent over the weekend shows that, for the first time this year, a majority of British citizens support staying in the trading bloc, with 52 per cent of support to remain in the European Union. Up to 80 per cent of US citizens supported the departure on the night of the Brexit referendum in the summer 2016, according to data also published by The Independent.

Comey Ends His Subpoena Fight, to Speak Behind Closed Doors
Comey had sued to block the summons last week, contending that the sealed testimony would be leaked and distorted by Republicans for political purposes. Early on Sunday, two days after Comey’s attorney conceded in court that no federal trial judge had ever batted down a House subpoena, the former Federal Bureau of Investigations chief — who was fired by President Donald Trump in 2017 — withdrew his request.
