More interesting are the increases for "shamrock" (811 percent), "clover" (328 percent), and "luck" (251 percent).Pornhub really does have a flair for the Irish on St. Patrick's Day.Image: PornhubAs one would expect, searches for anything "Irish" have a sizable increase on the holiday itself, with a spike of 429 percent. Searches for "lucky" increase by 171 percent over average daily searches. Obligatory!Image: PornhubPerhaps the most entertaining surges come misspellings that may be a wee bit inspired by an over-consumption of green beer or whiskey. Misspelled "hentai" searches increase by 18 percent on St. Patrick's Day with "hentia" being the most popular misspelling (31 percent).SEE ALSO: Pornhub reveals what women are searching in honor of International Women's DayBut even the easiest terms are a bit harder to type in once you've had one too many shots of Jameson: "MILF" sees an increase in misspellings of 9 percent. New Horizons isn’t done yet, and NASA is searching for its next target

New Horizons isn’t done yet, and NASA is searching for its next targetNew Horizons gave NASA an amazing New Year's gift when it sent back gorgeous images of the distant Solar System object Ultima Thule, which we now know is the very first contact binary every visited by man-made spacecraft. It's been a fantastic few days for the New Horizons team, but the spacecraft is far from finished.

Now, even as NASA scientists prepare to download a massive collection of data collected during the Ultima Thule flyby, the spacecraft's handlers are busy searching for its next target. The probe still has plenty of fuel to play with, and there's no shortage of interesting objects in the Kuiper Belt, which is packed with debris of varying sizes.

As Space News explains, deciding on Ultima Thule took a lot of time and effort, as well as some help from the powerful Hubble Space Telescope. When picking Ultima Thule, the team weighed many different factors, including how interesting the object itself might be and the probability of making a safe pass.

The good news is that New Horizons is equipped with an instrument designed specifically to spot objects that are far away. The Long Range Reconnaissance Imager helped the New Horizons team aim the spacecraft in the ideal direction for a close flyby, but sending back those images take a long time. A new software change could allow the spacecraft to snap many different images, combine them, and then send them back as one, which would save time, but that system is still in its conceptual stage and not ready for prime time.

NASA will continue to search for new objects that would be crossing near the current path of the spacecraft at the right time, but at the moment the future is still shrouded in mystery. For the time being, the New Horizons team will sift through the Ultima Thule data that will continue to trickle in for the next two years or so, but once they have decided on a new object to visit the hype will begin building once again.

Bow-wielding tribesmen scare off police searching for body of American missionary

Bow-wielding tribesmen scare off police searching for body of American missionaryIndian police abandoned an attempt to recover the remains of the American missionary killed by Andaman Islanders on Sunday after they were faced down by tribesmen armed with bows and arrows. A marine unit had a long-distance standoff with the natives as their boat neared North Sentinel Island on Saturday, as they tried to find the body of John Allen Chau. Officers spotted the islanders around 400 metres from the shore and saw the men were armed and seemingly ready to fight. "They stared at us and we were looking at them," said Director General of Police Dependra Pathak. The police are taking great efforts to avoid any direct contact with the Sentinelese, a pre-neolithic group whose island is barred to visitors. The death of Chau last week has highlighted the problems with any outsiders interacting with one of the world's last uncontacted tribes, whose language and customs are largely inscrutable. The fishermen who took Chau to North Sentinel, one of the Andaman and Nicobar islands in the Bay of Bengal, said they saw the tribe burying the body on the beach. The Sentinelese have been known attack anyone who goes to the island, seeing them as a threat – two fishermen who strayed onto the island were killed in 2006. Killed: John Allen Chau Credit: @JOHNACHAU/via REUTERS  One week after their deaths, the bodies of the two Indian fishermen were hooked on bamboo stakes facing out to sea. "It was a kind of scarecrow," Mr Pathak said. "We are studying the 2006 case. We are asking anthropologists what they do when they kill an outsider," the police chief told the AFP news agency. "We are trying to understand the group psychology." Though Chau's death is officially a murder case, anthropologists say it may be impossible to retrieve the American's body and that no charges will be made against the protected tribe. Seven people, including six fishermen who were involved in ferrying Mr Chau to North Sentinel, have been arrested. Meanwhile, Chau’s family have said they forgive the tribe for their actions and are not pushing for his remains to be returned to the US.
