A first class gaffe: Cathay to honour cheap ticket error
Scores of savvy travellers will be sipping heavily discounted champagne in first class recliners on Cathay Pacific flights this year after the airline agreed to honour tickets that were mistakenly sold at a fraction of their value. Airline and travel blogs went into overdrive on New Year’s Eve after eagle-eyed shoppers noticed the carrier was offering first and business class tickets on its website from Vietnam to the United States and Canada for as little as $ 670. It took two days for Cathay to publicly acknowledge the error with the airline on Wednesday saying it would indeed honour the cheap fares.

Prosecution admits to new error in Weinstein case
The prosecution has admitted to a new embarrassing error in the Harvey Weinstein case, saying a police detective told one of the disgraced Hollywood producer’s accusers to delete from her phone anything she wanted to keep private. China shuts Marriott website over Tibet error, scolds other firms
Authorities in China have shut down Marriott’s local website for a week and scolded Delta, Zara and a US medical firm Friday for listing Tibet, Taiwan and Hong Kong as separate countries. Alongside Marriott, the Spanish clothing giant Zara, Delta Air Lines and Medtronic — a medical device company — were all called out by Chinese authorities for “illegal” classification of regions that Beijing claims under its authority. Shanghai’s cyberspace authority late Thursday ordered Marriott to close its Chinese website and app for a week and completely clear out illegal and irregular information, according to a government statement.
