Why We Love Jennifer Aniston for Flaunting Her Cleavage at 45

How low can you go? If you’re talking about Jennifer Aniston’s red carpet outfits over the past few weeks, pretty freaking low.

At the Critics’ Choice Awards a week ago, the Cake actress rocked a scarlet Gucci tux; at last night’s SAG Awards, she went with a vintage John Galliano gown. Two completely different looks that shared two distinctive details: a delicate lariat necklace and drop-dead cleavage.

Just about everyone raved about her revealing choices, though some (E!’s Fashion Police star Kelly Osbourne for one) wondered about the 45-year-old actress’s decision to expose quite so much, well, post-perkiness. “Your face may look 20,” Osbourne said, “but the boobs don’t.”

Hal Rubenstein, former fashion director at InStyle and author of 100 Unforgettable Dresses ($ 23, amazon.com), begs to differ: “It saddens me that there are people who only believe cleavage is only applicable to women under the age of 25 with old-fashioned champagne glass-sized boobs. Women need to stop fixating on age. Aniston looked happy. Her fiancé looked happy. End of story.”

We’ve got to agree. In an age where so many celebs are sporting rock-solid, surgically-enhanced breasts (you know who you are), it’s kind of refreshing to see someone embracing—and flaunting—her natural assets, gravity be damned.

Kylie Jenner Explains Her Unbelievable Cleavage

Yesterday Kylie Jenner teased the launch of her new website with this before and after picture of her chest with dramatically different looking cup sizes. “Watch my little trick on my app/website,” she wrote in the caption.

Well, we fell for the bait (it’s research, right?!). In the video on her new site, titled “Kylie Comes Clean: They’re Real” (you have to login to see it) Jenner denies having any work done (despite breast augmentation rumors) and reveals her top secret trick: a bra.

“I don’t share this with a lot of people, but everyone thinks I’ve gotten a breast augmentation recently, and I haven’t. I just use the Bombshell by Victoria’s Secret. It’s life-changing. I’ve gotten all my sisters on it and all my friends. If you want the look of bigger breasts, that’s what I do.”

Wow, a bra. Groundbreaking, we know. But even we have to admit, that is a dramatic difference.

5 Beauty Tricks to Make Your Cleavage Look Even Better

One surefire way to boost your sex appeal this Valentine’s Day: Pretty up your décolletage. When someone is gazing at you, say from across the table at your favorite restaurant, the chest tends to be the first place they look, according to a study by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Use these expert tips—and your favorite bra—to put your best chest forward.

Prep your skin

Exfoliation is key when it comes to nixing unsightly dry patches. Use a chemical exfoliator that contains gentle ingredients such as lactic and phytic acid instead of the typical body scrub, recommends Los Angeles skincare specialist Sonya Dakar. “Body exfoliators tend to be way too strong for the sensitive skin on the neck and chest.” Our pick: Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser ($ 36, sephora.com).

Quell redness

Seeing splotches? Don’t panic. “Grab an aloe vera plant, squeeze out the contents, and apply directly to red spots,” advises Debra Jaliman, MD, a New York City dermatologist. A soothing lotion with aloe vera works, too. One to try: Kiehl’s Deluxe Hand & Body Lotion with Aloe Vera & Oatmeal ($ 22, nordstrom.com).

Nourish and replenish

Once your skin is feeling brand new, slather on lotion or body oil. Look for emollients like shea butter, coconut oil or almond oil to keep skin extra supple. Try: Jergens Shea Butter Lotion ($ 8, target.com). If you plan on wearing perfume, skip the scented moisturizer—the last thing you want is two fragrances trying to compete with one another.

Contour your cleavage

So you don’t have Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist on speed dial—no problem! Contouring your chest is actually pretty simple. Choose a bronzer that’s one shade darker than your face and create a ‘Y’ shape—blending from the sternum up and around the breasts towards the shoulders, says New York City makeup artist Kristofer Buckle.

Get glowing

Add sexy sheen with highlighter: “Dust a luminizer on the fronts and tops of shoulders and on the collarbones to pick up light,” says Los Angeles makeup artist Stephen Dimmick. To give your girls a little visual lift, Buckle suggests also applying highlighter to the area where your breast is fullest and to the inside curve of your cleavage.

Now that you have sculpted the perfect décolletage, it’s time to slip on your best dress and let it work its magic.
