Ivanka Trump denies president issued security clearances for her or husband Jared Kushner
Donald Trump’s daughter, who serves as a senior adviser in the White House, denied on Friday that her father was involved in issuing security clearances for her or her husband, Jared Kushner. Ivanka Trump made the remarks during an interview with ABC News host Abby Huntsman in an interview for The View. “There were anonymous leaks about there being issues,” Ms Trump said.
House Democrats to investigate White House security clearances
U.S. Representative Elijah Cummings, the Democratic chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said the probe was “in response to grave breaches of national security at the highest levels of the Trump administration.” Cummings said the panel would seek information in the cases of current and former officials including Trump’s son-in-law and senior aide Jared Kushner, national security adviser John Bolton, as well as former national security adviser Michael Flynn and former staff secretary Rob Porter.

Brennan, a former official in the Obama administration and sharp critic of Trump, has said he will not be deterred by the removal of his security clearance. Brennan described Trump’s actions at a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki last month as treasonous.
White House reforms security clearances to address scandal
White House Chief of Staff John Kelly has ordered changes to the way staff gain access to America’s most closely guarded secrets, after a top aide worked for months without full clearance. Kelly, a former Marine Corps general, proposed a series of tweaks intended to limit temporary security clearances, but which also seemed designed to draw a line under the Rob Porter scandal. The aide — who had daily access to the Oval Office and handled top secret documents — resigned in disgrace this month after allegations he beat both his former wives.
